Senior HR Expertise.
Personal Partnership.
We work with growing organisations and purpose-led charities on the people decisions that matter most the ones shaped by risk, growth or change. We're not a helpline. We're not a framework-and-leave consultancy. We're a trusted partner who stays involved.
About Us
King HR Advisory is a senior HR and people advisory practice. We work with growing SMEs and charities on the people decisions that matter most - the ones shaped by risk, growth or change.
We founded this because too many organisations face sensitive, high-stakes people situations without anyone senior to turn to. Not a helpline. Not a template. A trusted partner who knows your organisation and gives you a straight answer.
Why we exist
Most growing SMEs and charities reach a point where instinct and goodwill aren't enough. You've grown, the environment has become more complex, or something has happened that's exposed a gap.
That's when leaders need clear thinking, sound judgement and someone who understands both the human and the legal reality of people decisions.
That's what we're here for. And we'd rather be alongside you before you reach that point than after.
How we work
We work with a small number of organisations at any one time. That's deliberate. It means when you work with King HR Advisory, you work directly with us — consistently, personally, and with proper context about your organisation.
We're often brought in before situations escalate. Our job is to help you protect your mission, your people and your reputation, and make people decisions you can stand behind.
Our Founders
Jason brings over a decade of senior people leadership experience across purpose-led, regulated and professional services organisations.
He has led complex people agendas at board level and partnered with executive teams across the UK and EMEA, operating in environments where decisions carry real scrutiny, risk and consequence. His background spans financial services, insurance, care, manufacturing and the charity sector including scaling a people function from 200 to 400+ staff across eleven countries over eighteen months.
Alongside his executive career, Jason has served as a trustee for Children’s Heart Surgery Fund and Age UK Sheffield, giving him first-hand experience of the governance, accountability and funding pressures many organisations face.
His focus is simple: helping leaders make clear, well-judged decisions early, before issues escalate.
Clients value his clear thinking, measured judgement and ability to help leaders make sound decisions before situations escalate.
Jason holds an MSc in Human Resource Management and a Level 7 CIPD qualification and is a Chartered Member of the CIPD.
Co-founder & Director
Becky leads on client relationships and experience at King HR Advisory, ensuring the organisations we work with feel supported, understood and well-advised from day one.
She has managed teams through significant change, navigated the pressures of frontline service delivery, and built cultures where people feel supported enough to do their best work even when resources are stretched. That experience gives her a grounded understanding of what purpose-led organisations actually feel like from the inside — the stretched capacity, the high emotional labour, the importance of getting culture right when mission depends on it.
Becky’s role is to bridge thinking and delivery: turning complex people challenges into clear, practical next steps and making sure clients get consistent, high-quality support.
Her approach is people-first, responsive and commercially aware. Clients value her ability to build trust quickly, keep things moving, and make working together feel straightforward—even when the situation isn’t.
She ensures that King HR Advisory delivers not just strong advice, but a genuinely good client experience throughout.

How we work together
We work closely with our clients to build genuine, trusted relationships and stay consistently involved in the work that matters.
When you work with King HR Advisory, you work directly with us, this allows us to offer continuity, discretion and advice that is properly grounded in your organisation’s context.
Our clients
We work with two types of organisation, and we're deliberate about both.
Growing SMEs — founder-led businesses, scaling organisations, privately backed companies — that have outgrown informal HR and need senior people leadership without the overhead of a full-time hire. Typically led by a founder, MD or CEO who is still carrying too much of the people agenda personally, and knows it.
Charities, social enterprises and purpose-led organisations — typically 20 to 200 people, led by a CEO or Executive Director who cares deeply about their mission and their team, but doesn't have a dedicated HR function. Often navigating growth, funding-driven change, or a moment of complexity that needs senior expertise and careful handling.
What both have in common: they want a trusted partner, not a consultant. Clear thinking and sound judgement, not an HR function for the sake of it.
We've worked inside both types of organisation. We understand the pressures from the inside.
Why purpose-led organisations in particular
Part of the answer is professional. Between us, we've spent years working in and alongside charities, social enterprises and mission-driven organisations. We understand how they're governed, how funding shapes workforce decisions, and how the tension between mission and management plays out in practice.
Part of the answer is personal. Our daughter Amelia was seriously ill as a young child. During that time, the Children's Heart Surgery Fund provided our family with support we didn't know we needed and couldn't have asked for. It changed how we understood what these organisations actually do. Not in the abstract. When it matters most.
That experience is part of why King HR Advisory exists, and part of why we chose this sector deliberately rather than listing it as one of fifteen on a dropdown.
